Primary School Moston

A loving Christian community, where everyone is valued and successfully achieves their full potential.

Physical Education

We at St Mary’s believe that physical activity is an important part of our school curriculum. In our school we recognise that for our children to be fit and healthy, they need to be active.

The teaching of PE will help children develop a positive outlook on health and furthermore provide opportunities to learn life skills such as resilience and co-operation.

At St Mary’s we want our playtimes to be more active. So in Key Stage 1 and 2 we have trained coaches to work with the children providing opportunities to play team games such as, basketball, netball and football. Also the coaches will teach the children physical skills like balance and co-ordination through fun games in multi-skills.

We also run regular sports clubs, in both key stages, so children have increased access to out of school hours physical activity.
